Snitch GPS tracking is the only realistic
solution to vehicle security if you consider return of your asset
important or the ability to prevent car crime before it happens.
On average one vehicle is stolen every 18 minutes in New Zealand.
The chances of having your vehicle stolen are becoming greater every
year. A GPS tracking system is quite likely the difference between
having your vehicle returned and not. Like the name suggests if
your vehicle is stolen Snitch will tell you where it is. Internationally,
insurance companies are now recognising the value of these units
and in many countries insurance premiums are discounted when GPS
Tracking is installed.
So how
does it work?
After installing the system in
your vehicle your "Snitch" GPS Tracking system is ready
to pounce into action should it be required. If your vehicle is
stolen you simply text your Snitch GPS Tracking system [you will
be provided with a number to TXT when your system is installed]
or follow the vehicle via our web-based tracking program.
- Obtain Address: : When you TXT "Ad"
to your system your cell phone will TXT you back with your cars
location. [PN; deduct 22 cents from your snitch account for
each TXT plus the cost of your TXT to your sim card.
- Alert Mode:If you are parked in a location
that requires extra precautions, you can set your system to
the alert mode Send "Alert or Al" to your system and
if your vehicle moves you will be notified via TXT.
- Valet mode: Useful when your car has been
entrusted to someone who only needs to park or move your car,
this may occur during vehicle grooming, valet parking etc. Simply
TXT "Valet or V to your system and "Snitch will tell
you when the vehicle is driven over 25kms per hour.
Please note: Like all suppliers
prices increase from time to time. Snitch incorporated reserves
the right to increase Alert costs without notice. The ongoing cost
of receiving alerts is however designed specifically to be low cost
and will continue to be.
Additional notifications
- Excessive G's / Accident mode: By
a login to your web based account you can set your "Snitch"
to alert you in the event of an accident. If your vehicle is
involved in an accident, your system will notify both the cell
phone you have programmed to accept "Snitch" TXT messages
and another nominated cell should you wish. Provided the third
party who you nominated to receive the TXT has the ability to
login to your "Snitch" web account, they will be able
to locate you via the mapping system and come to your assistance.
- Speeding alert: If you lend your
vehicle out to another person [such as your teenager] you can
set your "Snitch" to alert you the moment the vehicle
exceeds a pre set speeding limit.
- Low battery or disconnected notification:
Ever had a flat battery from leaving your light on? In the
future this need not happen. Simply add the low battery alert
through your "Snitch" web based account and your GPS
tracking system will TXT you in the event of a low or disconnected
battery.
Extra services available
at time of installation
When you have your "Snitch"
installed you have the option of several other services which you
can add to your system. Each extra service does however incur additional
installation costs so please discuss this with your installer directly
- Glass break sensors: Glass break
sensors [when set] will alert you in the event of someone breaking
the glass. The sensors pick up the sound and then TXT you to
alert you of the break-in. Given the lackadaisical attitude
most have to alarms going off, it is unlikely you can rely on
a Good Samaritan passing by and challenging a person breaking
into your vehicle. The glass break sensor option provides the
opportunity to advert car theft even before it occurs.
- Fuel cut off: [available soon] the ability
to turn off the fuel can be incorporated into your install.
This is particularly useful if you have seen your car drive
off or you have had your system set to an alert mode. Please
note: while fuel cut off is a feature soon to be available,
for health and safety reasons this function will need to be
controlled by our authorised security company.
- Compatible car alarms. Many car alarms
are compatible with your "Snitch GPS Tracking system"
your installer can in many cases hook up your tracking system
to your alarm. This becomes useful if the alarm is activated
as the system can then send you a TXT to advise your alarm is
going off.
- Panic alert: A panic alert button
can be installed into your system which is useful for those
requiring extra security or the ability to notify others should
a medical emergency arise. The panic alert activates when the
button is depressed and will send a TXT to a nominated cell
phone if required. Provided the third party who you nominated
to receive the TXT has the ability to login to your "Snitch"
web account, they will be able to locate you via the mapping
system and come to your assistance.
How do I get my vehicle back?
It is always our recommendation to
phone the NZ Police first, in the event of your vehicle being stolen.
. It is also noted that where the NZ Police can make a difference
quickly and effectively they do so. Your Snitch GPS Tracking unit
provides this opportunity and if the Police can recover your vehicle
and arrest the offender you are doing your part to reduce car crime.
It is however very difficult
for the NZ Police to investigate every crime. For many this means
they will never see their vehicle again; for those that have a Snitch
tracking unit however this is likely not to be the case. GPS Tracking
NZ Ltd and Snitch incorporated have teamed up with a security company
to ensure that once your vehicle is found you are likely to get
it back. When you login to your Snitch account there is a 24 hour
free calling number which links to the security company if needed
and from there it is simply a case of phoning your security company
to have them fetch and return your vehicle. While there is a cost
involved in the security company fetching and returning your car,
the costs are reasonable.
